Product Overview
TCL X11L makes the color system part of its flagship LCD story. Mini LED backlighting sits behind an updated quantum-dot layer and color filter, while Google TV and high-refresh HDMI inputs handle everyday viewing and gaming. Independent lab testing covers the 85-inch model; check the exact size and regional configuration.
What Stands Out
SQD is TCL's name for its Super Quantum Dot color approach, paired with Mini LED local dimming. It uses a different color-producing arrangement from the company's RGB Mini LED sets. RTINGS' purchased 85-inch sample showed strong HDR brightness, vivid color and controlled local dimming.
Why It Matters
The X11L shows a Chinese display maker choosing its own route through flagship LCD design. The useful comparison is how color, backlight control and the panel work together in real scenes. The backlight name or a series-wide maximum cannot settle that comparison alone.
Best For
People comparing large premium LCD televisions for movies, bright-room viewing and gaming, with enough space to plan the screen size and seating position.
Not For
Small-room or budget-focused setups, or users who need one universal specification and support arrangement across every size and country.
Things to Know
RTINGS' 85-inch test found some loss of color and brightness at moderate viewing angles, weaker sound than its premium audio branding suggests, and a calibration system that did not work properly. Its very bright highlights also reduced in brightness when sustained. These observations describe the tested size and software, and do not establish identical behavior for the 75- or 98-inch sets.
Match the exact X11L size and regional model. The US product page and independent variant listings differ on some advertised brightness and dimming-zone figures; check the specification for the unit you are considering.
Native refresh is 144Hz. Accelerated higher-refresh modes use lower resolutions and compatible hardware; do not read the 288Hz headline as 4K at 288Hz.
TCL lists four HDMI 2.1 inputs, VRR, ALLM and Google TV in the US series. Check your console or PC, sound-system connection and app availability against the regional configuration.
Audio is branded by Bang & Olufsen; listen to the built-in system before assuming it replaces external speakers.
Plan viewing distance, off-center seating, stand or wall mounting, access for delivery, and regional service. Verify current configuration and reference price with the appropriate official seller.
